Nexus Market Vendor Registration 2026
Complete guide to registering as a vendor on Nexus Market. Covers the vendor bond requirement, PGP 2FA setup, registration steps, and escrow policy for new vendors in 2026.
Nexus Market Vendor Bond
Nexus Market requires all vendors to pay a non-refundable vendor bond before receiving vendor status. The bond serves as a financial deterrent against exit scams and low-quality listings.
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Vendor bond | Payable in Monero (XMR) — check the Nexus Market vendor upgrade page for the current amount |
| Bond refundability | Non-refundable in most circumstances; may be partially returned on account closure at admin discretion |
| Payment method | Monero (XMR) only |
| Processing time | Manual review — typically 24–72 hours after bond confirmation |
| PGP 2FA | Mandatory before vendor application can be submitted |
| Existing account required | Must have an active buyer account with PGP 2FA enabled |
The vendor bond amount is set by Nexus Market admins and may change without notice. Always check the current figure directly on the vendor upgrade page inside Nexus Market before preparing a deposit.
Step 1 — Create and Secure a Buyer Account
Vendor registration begins with a standard buyer account. You cannot apply for vendor status without a functioning buyer account with PGP 2FA already enabled.
- Access Nexus Market via a verified onion address using Tor Browser (see our access guide).
- Register a new buyer account. Choose a username that does not reveal your identity. Use a unique, strong password.
- Enable PGP 2FA immediately after registration. This is required before the vendor application will be accepted.
- Verify the account is functioning correctly — log out and log back in with PGP 2FA to confirm the setup is working.
Step 2 — Generate a Dedicated Vendor PGP Key
While you can use the same PGP key for 2FA and vendor communication, generating a separate vendor identity key is strongly recommended for operational security.
- Generate a new RSA 4096-bit PGP key pair:
gpg --full-generate-key - Do not use your real name or email address. Use your vendor alias and a throwaway email (or no email).
- Export the public key:
gpg --armor --export your_vendor_alias - Upload the public key to your Nexus Market account settings under Security → PGP Key.
- Store the private key offline. Use an air-gapped device or encrypted USB drive for private key operations.
Your vendor PGP key is also what buyers will use to send you encrypted messages. Publish your public key fingerprint prominently in your vendor profile so buyers can verify they are encrypting to the correct key.
Step 3 — Pay the Vendor Bond
The vendor bond is paid in Monero (XMR). Nexus Market uses Monero exclusively because it provides significantly stronger privacy guarantees than Bitcoin through ring signatures and stealth addresses.
- Log into your Nexus Market account.
- Navigate to Account Settings → Vendor Upgrade.
- Note the current vendor bond amount and the Monero deposit address provided.
- Send the exact Monero amount from your wallet to the provided address. Ensure you use a privacy-preserving wallet and do not send from an exchange that has KYC on your identity.
- Wait for the required number of Monero confirmations. Bond payments are processed automatically once confirmed on-chain.
- Once the bond is confirmed, the vendor application form will become available.
Do not send Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency to the Monero deposit address. Only XMR transactions are valid. Incorrect payments cannot be recovered.
Step 4 — Complete the Vendor Application
After the bond is confirmed, complete the vendor application form. Applications are reviewed manually by the Nexus Market admin team.
- Fill in your vendor display name. This is permanent — choose carefully.
- Write a vendor description explaining your specialties, shipping regions and expected response times.
- Select the product categories you intend to list in.
- Agree to the Nexus Market vendor terms of service.
- Submit the application. You will receive a notification when the review is complete (typically 24–72 hours).
Applications with incomplete profiles or unusual activity patterns may be delayed or declined. The admin team makes all decisions at their sole discretion — bond payments are not refunded if an application is declined.
Step 5 — Escrow Policy for New Vendors
Understanding Nexus Market's escrow system is essential before listing your first product. The escrow system protects buyers and establishes the trust framework all vendors operate within.
| Escrow Type | How It Works | Eligibility |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Escrow | Funds held by Nexus Market until buyer confirms delivery. Released to vendor on confirmation or after the auto-finalize window. | All vendors |
| Finalize Early (FE) | Buyer releases funds before delivery confirmation. Higher risk for buyer — only offered to high-reputation vendors. | High-reputation vendors only (admin grant) |
| Dispute resolution | Either party can open a dispute. Admin moderators review evidence and make a binding decision on fund allocation. | All transactions |
New vendors operate under standard escrow only. FE status must be earned through a track record of completed orders and positive reviews. Never request buyers to finalize early without FE status — this violates Nexus Market rules and can result in account suspension.
